The 10-Minute Club Check: A Simple Way to Get More From Your Game
The 10-Minute Club Check: A Simple Way to Get More From Your Game
For more than 50 years, Golf World and Golf Mart have been helping Australian golfers get the most from their equipment through expert advice, club fitting, repairs, adjustments and good old-fashioned customer service.
Our 10-Minute Club Check is another way we can help.
It is a free, quick and practical in-store service designed to identify simple equipment issues that may be costing you distance, consistency or confidence on the golf course.
And sometimes, the smallest adjustment can make a surprisingly big difference.
What Is a 10-Minute Club Check?
The 10-Minute Club Check is a quick assessment of your current golf equipment.
One of our experienced team members will talk to you about your game, take a look at your clubs and identify any obvious areas where your equipment may not be ideally suited to you.
It is not intended to replace a full club fitting.
Instead, it is about starting a conversation and looking for opportunities to improve the performance of the clubs already in your bag.
That might mean a simple adjustment, some maintenance or, where appropriate, exploring whether newer equipment could offer a genuine performance benefit.
What Can We Check?
Every golfer is different, so every 10-Minute Club Check will be slightly different too.
Depending on your equipment and what you are experiencing on the course, our team may look at areas such as:
- Grip condition and size – Are your grips worn, slippery or the wrong size for your hands?
- Club length – Are your clubs the right length for your height, posture and setup?
- Impact position – A quick static check or a couple of swings can help identify where you are striking the clubface.
- Shaft suitability – Does your shaft type and flex suit your current swing speed and tempo?
- Launch, spin and descent angle – Are your clubs producing the ball flight needed to maximise distance and control?
- Putter balance – Is your putter suited to the way you naturally move the club during your stroke?
- Wedge setup and bounce – Do your wedges provide the right combination of loft and bounce for your technique and the conditions you normally play?
The aim is not to make golf equipment more complicated.
It is to identify the obvious things that may be making the game harder than it needs to be.
Sometimes the Answer Is Already in Your Golf Bag
Improving your equipment does not always mean buying something new.
Sometimes the answer may be as simple as replacing a set of worn grips.
Your clubs may need to be shortened or lengthened.
Your driver shaft may no longer suit the way you swing.
Your wedge setup might have gaps or bounce options that do not suit the conditions you regularly play.
Or your putter may simply not be the right style or balance for your stroke.
A 10-Minute Club Check can help identify these opportunities quickly.
And if we believe a more detailed assessment would be worthwhile, we can recommend the next step, including a full club fitting where appropriate.
It All Starts With a Conversation
One of the most valuable parts of the 10-Minute Club Check happens before we even look at your clubs.
We want to understand your game.
What are you struggling with?
Have your distances changed?
Are you losing shots in one particular direction?
Do some clubs feel easier to hit than others?
Are there clubs in your bag that you rarely use?
Are you struggling around the greens or lacking confidence with your putter?
Those conversations help our team focus on the areas that matter most to you.
Because the best equipment advice starts with understanding the golfer.
Over 50 Years of Helping Golfers Play Better
Golf equipment has changed dramatically over the past five decades.
Drivers have become faster and more forgiving. Shafts have become lighter and more specialised. Launch monitors now provide information that golfers could only dream about years ago.
But the fundamentals of good service have not changed.
For more than 50 years, Golf World and Golf Mart have been helping golfers choose, fit, adjust and maintain their equipment.
Our team combines that experience with modern fitting technology and product knowledge to help golfers make better-informed decisions about what is in their bag.
The 10-Minute Club Check is simply another way we can share that knowledge.
Whether the answer is a new grip, an adjustment, a different shaft, a better wedge setup, a more suitable putter or simply reassurance that your current clubs are right for you, the objective is the same:
To help you get the best possible performance from your golf equipment.
